Funeral service for Mrs. Mary Tompkins, 89, who died Monday morning at the home of her niece, Mrs. Russell Mallicoat, near Mount Vernon, will beheld pending word from the daughter.

Deceased was born in Pennsylvania, and after her marriage to Chancy Tompkins on Jan. 1, 1878, near Warren, Ohio. They came to Iowa settling on a farm north of Wyoming, and later moving to the Pleasant Ridge community. After the death of her husband she moved to Wyoming in 1922. She was a member of the Methodist church, and active in all its organizations. She was also a member of the Bay View and C.T.T. clubs, the Women's Relief Corps and O.E.S. In June she fractured her hip and arm in a fall at the home of her son, and was taken to Mercy hospital, Anamosa, where she remained until recently. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Ivan (B.H.) Chamberlain, Alhambra, Calif., a son, Lyle, Wyoming, five grandchildren and four sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Inglis, Waukon; Mrs. Frances Adams, Long Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Ella Lackey, Gerard, Ohio, and Mrs. Anna Johnson, Warren, Ohio.
