OXFORD JUNCTION--Funeral service was held Friday afternoon for Fred Rehmke, 51, from the English Lutheran church. Prof. Arnold Running had charge of the service, assisted by the Rev. John Stewart, Stanwood. Hymns were sung by a quartet consisting of Mrs. A. E. Hodoval, Mrs. Louis Ingwersen, Mrs. Palmer Vaughn and Mrs. Otto Koranda, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Running. Flowers were in charge of Mrs. Frank Zaruba, Mrs. August Ahrendsen and Mrs. Gerald Madder, Wyoming. Pallbearers were John Wasoba, Ed Vacek, Fred Pegorick, Wilbur Foley, Olin, and Arthur Miller and George Thumma, Clarence. Interment was in the cemetery at Stanwood.

Mr. Rehmke died Tuesday evening, Aug. 21, in his home one mile west of Oxford Mills, following several months' illness of heart trouble. He had just moved to his farm near Oxford Junction this spring after having farmed near Stanwood for a number of years.

He was born in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, Dec.28, 1893, and came to America with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hans Rehmke, when a young boy. The home was made near Hale, in which community he grew to manhood.

He was united in marriage to Anna Eichhorn, Oxford Junction, Jan. 30, 1918, who survives with six children--four sons, Louis and Robert, the latter recently discharged from the service, and Herbert and Harold, all at home; two daughters, Betty Jane, at home, and Rosetta, a Cadet nurse in Cedar Rapids. One daughter, Luella, preceeded him in death in 1936. One sister, Mrs. Fred Evers, Clarence, also survives.
