Funeral services for Mrs. William Oltmanns, 44, who died early Tuesday morning at Mercy hospital, Anamosa, following a long illness, is being held at 1:30 o'clock this Thursday at Smykil's Home for Funerals and at 2 o'clock at St. Paul's American Lutheran church. Rev. H. L. Buesing will be the officiating minister. Miss Wilma Schrader and Miss Virginia Dirks will sing two hymns. Burial will be made at Riverside cemetery.

Mrs. William (Irene Harriet Guilford) Oltmanns, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Batchelder) Guilford, was born June 17, 1901 in Cass township, Jones Co.

Her childhood and girlhood years were spent in the home of her parents, from where she attended school in District No. five, and advancing to the Anamosa high school from which she graduated with honors. She taught schools in Jones Co. for three years.

On Dec. 26, 1931, she was united in marriage to William Otlmanns. They lived on farms south and north of Anamosa until 1940 when they purchased and moved onto a farm southwest of Anamosa which is still the family home. Five children graced the home of this union.

Mrs. Oltmann began ailing in the fall of 1944, submitting to an operation March 27, 1945, which gave her hopes of recovery. She returned to the hospital 13 days before her death.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, and remained a member until her death. She partook of the Lord's supper just two prior to her demise.

Surviving are her husband; one son, John; four daughters, Rachel, Mrs. William Griffith; Wilma, Elda and Helen; her father, Charles Guilford.

Two brothers, Glenn and Vernon Guilford, all of Anamosa; two sisters, Ruth, Mrs. Earl Mettlin, Moline, Ill.; Helen, Mrs. Victor Edwards, Cedar Rapids.
