December 10, 1962 - The Anamosa Journal

Mrs. Albert Kurth, 87, Anamosa, died unexpectedly on Saturday, Dec. 8.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 1:30 p.m., at the Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa. Rev. J. Ellis Webb, Anamosa, will officiate at the services. Burial will be in the Hopkinton cemetery.

Her grandsons will be pallbearers.

She was born Cora A. Littlefield, Jan. 1, 1875, daughter of William Littlefield and Dankolette Littlefield. She was married in March 1896, to Albert Kurth, at Hopkinton. Couple farmed in Delaware county and had lived in the Coggon area for 25 years before moving to Anamosa last Spring.

Survivors include her husband, Albert; seven children, Nellie, Mrs. Harold Porter, Anamosa; Ruth, Mrs. Otto Davis, Galena, Ill.; Asa Kurth, Mount Carroll, Ill.; Marian, Mrs. Vern Durey, Aurora, Ill.

Florence, Mrs. Norman Stout, Winoka, Minn., Howard Kurth, Anamosa, and Flod Kurth, Coggon; 29 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Earl, a daughter, Alice; three sisters and one brother.
