July 25, 1963 - The Anamosa Eureka

OLIN--Anna A. Jackson, 89, Olin, died Friday, July 12, at the Nursing home, Anamosa.

Funeral services were held at the Hayden Funeral home, Olin, on Monday, July 15. Rev. John R. Schlosser officiated at the service. Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery, Mechanicsville.

Pallbearers included Fred Hefflefinger, Melvin Borcherding, Howard Freeman, Willard Hoyman, Bliss Switzer and Gordon Freeman.

She was born July 20, 1874, daughter of Uriah and Elizabeth Lamb Barr, Rome township, Jones county. She attended public school at Olin.

Dec. 14, 1893, she was married to Edward Henderson, Mechanicsville. Couple farmed in the vicinity of Mechanicsville for nearly 26 years. Following the death of her husband on April 13, 1919, she continued to farm and work as a practical nurse.

April 16, 1926, she was married to Frank Jackson of Mechanicsville. Couple farmed until his death Feb. 15, 1947. Following the death of her husband she moved to Olin where she made her home until entering the nursing home.

She was a member of the Mechanicsville Methodist church and a past member of Women's society of the Olin Methodist church.

Survivors include four children, Harry Edward, Cedar Rapids; Harlan Barr, Olin, Vera Elizabeth, Mrs. Ed Dauber, Cedar Rapids; and Verna Marie, Mrs. Clyde Hefflefinger, Cedar Rapids; 10 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.'

She was preceded in death by her two husbands, her parents and a sister.
