8 August 1963 - The Anamosa Eureka

Dr. Louis Warren Kellogg, 68, Fallbrook, Calif., former resident of Anamosa, died Sunday, July 28 in Fallbrook, following a lingering illness.

Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 2, in Fallbrook. Interment was in Rosecrans National cemetery, San Diego.

He was born Dec. 23, 1894, in Lockport, Ill. He was a graduate of Chicago Veterinary college and served in the Veterinary corps of the cavalry during World war I. July 8, 1919, he was married to Louise Richmond, Cedar Rapids.

Dr. Kellogg practiced in Anamosa from 1925 to 1952. He was a member of the Congregational church, American Legion, various Masonic orders, and served on the Anamosa public school board and Jones county draft board.

Since his retirement from general practice he made his home in Newport Beach and Fallbrook, Calif. At various times he has worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Idaho, Utah and California.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, three sons and 14 grandchildren, all residing in California; and two sisters and three brothers, all from Illinois.
