WYOMING--Funeral service for Mrs. E. O. Johnson, 69, who died Monday evening at Mercy hospital, Anamosa, following a few days illness, will be held this Thursday at 2:00 p.m., at the Methodist church in Wyoming. Rev. E. G. Steinman will officiate.
Mrs. Johnson, formerly Elizabeth Zak, was born in Czechslovakia in 1874 and came to Oxford Junction with her parents when five years old. On April 5, 1892 she was married to Elmer O. Johnson and they began housekeeping on the farm one mile south of Wyoming which was their home for over 50 years. They moved Dec. 1, 1943 to their newly purchased home in Wyoming.
She was a member of the Methodist church and active in the Women's Society of Christian Service. Survivors are her husband, three daughters, Mrs. Walter Freeman, Clarence; Mrs. Leonard Ahrendsen, Cedar Rapids and Mrs. John VonSprecken, Olin; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
