Funeral service for William H. Finn, 79, who died last Friday at Mercy hospital, Anamosa, following a stroke last Monday, was held at the First Congregational church Sunday afternoon. Rev. Homer E. Dalrymple was in charge of the service. Interment was at Wilcox cemetery.

William H. Finn was born January 7, 1865, son of Sarah Patterson and Mathew D. Finn, in Buffalo township, Linn county. He was the oldest resident of Buffalo township, having spent his entire life in the community where he was born, and had lived on the same farm since 1896.

He was married Oct. 22, 1890 to Maud E. Plamadore. His wife preceded him in death in July, 1922. He joined the Congregational church on Easter Sunday, 1933.

Surviving are two children, W. Lee, with whom he made his home; Mrs. Golda Tyler, Anamosa; one granddaughter, Catherine Finn Seeley, Columbia, S. Car.; several nieces and nephews.
