OLIN--Funeral service for Mrs. Alza Packer was held at the Campbell funeral home, last Thursday afternoon. Burial was in the Olin cemetery. Rev. W. E. Strait of the Methodist church was in charge.

Mrs. Packer, daughter of David and Ellen Riley, was born Jan.9, 1856, in the West Branch community. She married Allen Packer, Dec. 25, 1878. After their marriage they moved to Marshall county where Leona was born. Another daughter, Mrs. Asneth Bye, preceded her in death. Mr. Packer died in 1903.

Mrs. Packer taught school in Linn and Marshall counties for many years. She was a past member of the Eastern Star lodge, an active member of the Methodist church until her health failed, interested in all community enterprises and a great reader.

She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Leona Price; granddaughter, Mrs. Helen Groth, and two great grandsons, all of Olin.

Mrs. Loren Hart and Mrs. Joe Pieper sang "In the Garden" and "Ivory Palaces" with Mrs. L. J. Rohwedder as accompanist.

Casket bearers were Michael Swenson, Louis Rohwedder, E. H. Lawson, W. L. Hart, Rupert Mason, and Roy Moreland.
