Mrs. Evelyn Rushford, 66, Anamosa, died early Saturday morning, Aug. 31, at Mercy hospital following a lingering illness.
Rosary was recited Monday evening, Spet. 2, at the Goettsch Funeral home.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 3, at 9:30 a.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic church. Rev. J. A. McMahon conducted the service. Burial was in Holy Cross cemetery.
Pallbearers included Paul Yarrington, Dale LaBarge, Lawrence Shanney, John Youngman, Lawrence LaBarge and John Barnes.
She was born Dec. 16, 1896, daughter of Isadore and Phelmone Sampica Mere. She was married to William Rushford, Feb. 21, 1937. He preceded her in death in 1954. She spent her life in the Stone City and Anamosa areas except for two years spent in the state of Washington.
Survivors include a son, James Kraus, jr., Monticello; four sisters, Mrs. Fred Gray, Anamosa; Mrs. Elmer Lathrop, Marion; Mrs. Martha Dailey and Mrs. Vina Allen, Dalhart, Texas; one brother, Francis Mere, Anamosa; and three grandchildren.
Beside her husband she was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.
