5 September 1963 - The Anamosa Eureka

CENTER JUNCTION--Herman Ricklefs, 64, Center Junction, died Tuesday, sept. 3, at St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 6, at 2 p.m. at the Hayden Funeral home, Wyoming. Rev. Anton Kirkegaard, Monticello, will conduct the service. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery, Anamosa.

Pallbearers include Dillion Mead, Leonard Serbousek, Arthur Wilcox, Harold Heidemann, jr., Robert Von Spreecken and Price Slate.

Music will be furnished by Harland Heltzer, Monticello.

He was born March 4, 1899. son of Hinrich N. Ricklefs and Minnie Stenblock Ricklefs, Langworthy. He was married to Sophie Moenk, June 1, 1932, at Worthington, Minn. He had lived his married life on a farm near Monticello until 1943 when he moved to a farm in the Center Junction area.

Survivors include his wife, Sophia; a son, Vernon, Center Junction; two daughters, Luella, Mrs. David Gardner, Davenport; and Elaine, Mrs. Leo Halsch, Long Beach, Calif.; and four grandsons.

Others include four brothers, William, Davenport; August and Paul, Monticello; and John G., Anamosa; two sisters, Mae, Mrs. Donald Scheib, St. Charles, Ill., and Elizabeth, Mrs. Adrian Pearson, Cedar Rapids.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Henry, Anamosa.
