Services for George W. Russell, who died at the County home near Amber, November 27, were held at the White Oak church Tuesday. Rev. Winder officiated.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
9 December 1943 - The Anamosa Journal
Service for George W. Russell, Scotch Grove, was held last week at the White Oak Evangelical church, Rev. C. L. Windsor officiating. T. C. Loder was in charge of the services. Pallbearers were his nephews, Harlan, Willard, Orville and Perry Russell. Honorary pallbearers were Ed Miller, Urban Miller, Otto Fisher and B. H. Barnhizer.
George Wesley Russell, son of Jacob and Sophia Werner Russell was born in Northampton county, Pennsylvania, September 2, 1859, and died November 27 at the County home near Scotch Grove.
He was one of a family of ten children, eight of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by one brother, Edward M. Russell of Mechanicsville, and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased was an invalid, and lived for many years in the county home where he died.
