June 6, 1963 - The Anamosa Eureka

Mrs. H. E. Harms, 88, died Wednesday evening, June 5, at Mercy hospital, Anamosa, following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 8, at 1:30 p.m., at Wayne Zion Lutheran church. Goettsch Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Ted Osterkamp, Peosta; four sons, Henry A. Harms, Monticello; Carl E. Harms, Anamosa; Herman T. Harms, Center Junction and Edward W. Harms, Amber.

Mrs. H. E. Harms, 88, Anamosa, died Wednesday, June 5, at Mercy hospital, Anamosa, following a brief illness.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 8, at 1:30 p.m., at Wayne Zion Lutheran church. Rev. Luther Wachholz officiated at the service. Burial was in the Wayne Zion cemetery. Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa, were in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers included Louie Harms, John Junior Boysen, Richard Harms, Alvin Harms, Albert Osterkamp and Carl Osterkamp, grandsons of the deceased.

She was born Dina M. Weers, April 29,1875, daughter of Johann Weers and Ameilia Daniels Weers, Markansen Javerland, Germany. She was married Jan. 13, 1898 to Henry E. Harms, Castle Grove township. Couple made their home on a farm in Castle Grove township for four years before moving in 1902 to a farm east of Amber.

Survivors include a daughter, Mollie, Mrs. Ted Osterkamp, Peosta; four sons, Henry A. Harms, Monticello; Carl E. Harms, Anamosa; Herman T. Harms, Center Junction; and Edward W. Harms, Amber, 22 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1935; four sons, one daughter, three brothers and three sisters.
