OXFORD JUNCTION--Funeral service for Mrs. Sara Hoffman, 75, was held Saturday afternoon from the Hayden funeral home. Rev. Wilbur Altheide conducted service.

Singers were Marjorie Leslie, Mrs. D. J. Meade and Lyle Jeffrey. They sang "Beautiful Garden of Prayer," "Jesus Savior Pilot Me" and "In the Sweet Bye and Bye." Flowers were in charge of Viola and Mildred Leslie and Luella Chapman.

Those serving as casket bearers were all nephews: Edgar Auliff, Davenport; John Carstensen, Clarence Bowker, Le Claire; Oliver Burlingham, Lisbon; Harold Wilson, Davenport, and Alvin Bowker, Le Claire. Burial was in the Mayflower cemetery.

Mrs. Hoffman was born Sara Elliott, in Scott county, March 22, 1868, daughter of John and Catherine Elliott. She was married to Alvin Hoffman, Lisbon, in1904 and they made their home in that vicinity until Mr. Hoffman's death in 1924. Mrs. Hoffman has been living with her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Hodgden at Oxford Mills for the last several years, where she died Wednesday afternoon from a stroke following a long illness.

She is survived by a step-son, Willard Hoffman, Springville; one brother, William Elliott, Le Claire, and four sisters, Mrs. W. C. Fields, Des Moines; Mrs. W. S. Weirick, Lisbon; Mrs. D. T. Wilson, Davenport and Mrs. W. C. Hodgden, Oxford Mills.
