Funeral service for Mrs. J. V. Wright, Monticello, who died Friday at Mercy hospital, Anamosa, were held Sunday afternoon at the Goettsch funeral home in Monticello. Burial was in Oakland cemetery.

Mrs. Wright was born near Onslow July 8, 1867. Her husband died in 1935.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Joe Eby, Scotch Grove; Mrs. Ray Walron, Vinton and Mrs. William Walron, Anamosa; five sons, Ray, Vern, William, John and Roy Wright, all of Monticello.

Funeral service for Mrs. Emma Wright, 77, Anamosa, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Laura Walraven in Monticello, last Friday, was held Sunday afternoon in the Goetsch funeral home in Monticello. Rev. H. L. Buesing officiated at the funeral home and at Oakwood cemetery, where burial was made. George Wessels and Reverend Buesing sang, "In The Garden," and "Whispering Hope."

Emma Louise (Smith) Wright, daughter of the late John V. Smith and Sarah Hunt Smith was born July 8, 1855, at Onslow. She married Delbert Wright, South Dakota, Aug. 29,1887. Following their marriage they operated a farm in South Dakota for nine years. Between 1896 and 1913 they engaged in farming near Scotch Grove. They then moved to Monticello where Mr. Wright died in 1937. Mrs. Wright had lived with her daughter, Mrs. Laura Walraven in Anamosa.

Surviving are five sons, Roy and John, Scotch Grove; William and Vernon, Monticello; and Raymond, Marion; three daughters, Mrs. Alpha Eby, Scotch Grove; Mrs. Edna Walraven, Tama and Mrs. Laura Walraven, Anamosa; one sister, Miss Laura Smith, Wyoming; 22 grandchildren and 11 grandchildren.
