Mrs. Chris Dircks, 78, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, July 10, at her home at 605 E. Main.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 13, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran church, Anamosa. Rev. LaVerne Beener will officiate at the service. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery. Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa, is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers include Harold Hartman, George Benson, Harold Healey, Harry Zimmerman, Elvern Capron and Robert Keseberg.

She was born Amanda Mary Wagner, Dec. 23, 1885, daughter of Carl Wagner and Amanda Dahn Wagner, Cincinnati, Ohio. She was married to Chris Dircks Jan. 20, 1911, at Davenport, Wash.

Couple farmed in the state of Washington before moving to a farm in Jones county. They have lived the last 42 years in Anamosa. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran church.

Survivors include her husband, Chris; two sons, Chris H., Chandler, Ariz., and George A., Hopkinton; one daughter, Frances, Mrs. Otis Eaton, Waterloo; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
