OXFORD JUNCTION--Funeral service of Jerome J. Berner, 85, were held Friday afternoon, Aug. 27, from the late home at 2 o'clock. Service was in charge of Rev. Fred C. Maurer of the English Lutheran church.

Hymns were sung by a ladies quartet consisting of Mrs. J. E. Davies, Mrs. Fred Lasack, Mrs. A. E. Hodoval and Mrs. Palmer Vaughn, accompanied by Mrs. Ernest Schwab.

Flowers were in charge of Mrs. LaVern Carson and Mrs. Louis Ledvina, Oxford Junction and Mrs. John Buckart, Savanna.

Casket bearers were Vic Tatak, Henry Mowrey, George Williams, Vern Cram, Art Skinner, and George Volk.

Burial was in the Mayflower cemetery with services in charge of the K. P. lodge of which Mr. Berner was a member.

Mr. Berner was born Sept. 3, 1857, in Toronto, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Berner. He engaged in farming before his marriage to Miss Lillie Baird, Oxford Junction, May 3, 1899, and since made his home here. He died Tuesday evening, Aug. 24, at his home from an attack of heart disease.

He is survived by his wife, one son, Harry, a daughter, Mrs. Louis Ingwersen, and two granddaughters, all of Oxford Junction, and a sister, Mrs. F. E. Williams, Marion.
