OXFORD JUNCTION--Funeral service for Vince Burda, 67, was held at his home Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Wilbur Altheide of the Oxford Mills church conducted the service and Anton Vanicek spoke for the Z.C.B.J. lodge of which Mr. Burda was a member.

Music was by a ladies trio, consisting of Mrs. Hans Ahrendsen, Mrs. Fred Sacora and Mrs. Fred Lasack, accompanied by Mrs. James Kotlinek. Floral offerings were in charge of Dolores Koranda, Marlene Ingwersen, Phyllis Burda, Donna Benhart, Louise Hall and Dorothy Powelka, Maquoketa.

Casket bearers were Delbert Burda, James Wasoba, Fred Harms, George Benhart, Robert Nowachek, Edward Nowachek, John Burda and Charles Slouha. Burial was in Mayflower cemetery.

Vince Burda was born on a farm east of Oxford Junction Sept. 14, 1875, the son of Joseph and Rosa Burda. He married Josephine Nowachek, Oxford Junction, Oct. 16, 1900, and they farmed until they retired in 1936.

They made their home in Oxford Junction. Mr. Burda died Monday evening, Aug. 16, at his home here. He had been ill more than three years.

He is survived by his wife, one son, Fred, three daughters, Mrs. Elmer Koranda, Mrs. Harro Ingwersen and Mrs. Ed Benhart, and 70 grandchildren; two brothers, John and Albert Burda, and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Wasoba and Mrs. Julia Benhart, all of Oxford Junction community, also survive.
