Phillip Irvin Minehart, 77, died at Minneapolis Thursday, June 24. Mr. Minehart was a hardware merchant in Anamosa for many years, selling out to G. H. Monroe who operated in the location now used by the Ben Franklin store.

Mrs. Minehart, the former Jessie Lister, survives her husband. They were married when he was 18-years-old and had shared life for 59 years.

Phillip Minehart was born in 1866, the son of George and Christina Minehart. He was raised in Jones county and was a successful hardware merchant before he sold out to Mr. Monroe. He went to Canada for a time, then moved to Minneapolis where he since had made his home. He was a member of the Methodist church at Anamosa and was active in the Masonic and Odd Fellow lodges.

Funeral service was held at Minneapolis in the Anderson Funeral home last Saturday. Burial was in Minneapolis.

Survivors in addition to Mrs. Minehart are: two sons, Robert Irvin Minhart, Spokane, Wash., and George Minehart, Minneapolis; one daughter, Miss Mae Minehart, at home; one brother, Ezra Minehart, Springville, Iowa. One daughter, Jennie, preceded her father in death several years ago.
