Funeral service for Mrs. John W. Meeks, who died last Monday, June 28, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. E. Stover, was held Tuesday afternoon, June 29 at the Loder Funeral home. Rev. J. K. Delahooke was in charge; burial was at Forest chapel cemetery.

Mrs. Meeks was born Rachel Elizabeth Taylor on Sept. 11, 1860, in Fairview township, Jones county, and has lived here all her life.

She married John William Meeks, Feb. 26, 1879, and to this union three children were born.

Mr. Meeks died Nov. 12, 1929, and since that time Mrs. Meeks has made her home with her daughter.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Archie Hay and Mrs. Stover; son, John E. Meeks; step-daughter, Mary J. Flaherty, Winslow, Ariz.; five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren.
