Mrs. Margaret Wroblewski, who would have reached her 83rd birthday Sunday of this week, died Thursday of last week at 2:40 p.m., at her home in Jackson township, where she has lived for 35 years.

Mrs. Wroblewski was born Margaretha Otten, at Wise der Meer, East Friesland, Germany, March 21, 1860. She was the second child of Otto Otten and Anna Brunen Otten.

She was baptized March 30, 1860 at Reepsholt, and confirmed by Pastor Gossel on March 21, 1875.

Margaret was married to Franz Wroblewski June 19, 1884, and with their first child, Anton, they emigrated to the United States in January of 1887.

They made their first home in this country in Scotch Grove, and Jones county has been their residence since that time. Seven years ago she was stricken with a paralytic affliction that left her practically helpless.

One of her sons, Sergeant August Wroblewski, died Nov. 19, 1919, and her husband, Franz, died Dec. 13, 1937. Other children born to her were Anton, Monticello; John, Lisbon; Ben, Waubeek; Franz, Northfield, Minn., and Fred and Margaret at home, all of whom survive the parents.

Four weeks ago she was stricken with bronchial pneumonia which proved fatal. She was a member of the Wayne Zion Lutheran church since she came to this country. The Holy sacrament was administered to her on Tuesday, Feb. 23.

Other survivors are her three brothers, Behrend Otten, Wilhelmshafen, Germany; Fred Otten, Scotch Grove, and Otto Otten, Amber; also a sister, Maria, of Colo., and the respective families of survivors.

Pallbearers were six nephews--William Otten, Lawrence Otten, John Otten, D. John Dirks, John F. Husman, and Will J. Zimmerman.

Burial services were held for her on Sunday afternoon at 1:15 p.m. from the McNamara Funeral home in Anamosa, followed by a church service at the Wayne Zion church at 2 p.m. The church service was conducted by her pastor, Rev. F. H. Kehren.

Jean Saathof and Lois Kehren sang two duets, "Nearer My God to Thee" and "Abide With Me," with Rev. Zeilinger at the organ.
