ONSLOW--Edith Alberta Howard was born April 9, 1883 at Clay Mills, the eldest child of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Howard and died Monday night after an illness of a week's duration. She attended the Clay Mills school and lived there until her marriage.
She was united in marriage to Arthur Ames Feb. 24, 1903. They moved to a farm north of Onslow where they had lived their entire married life. Couple became the parents of one son, Howard.
Surviving besides Mr. Ames and son are the mother, Mrs. Belle Howard, three sisters, Mrs. Leo Allen and Mrs. Carroll Bickford, Onslow, and Mrs. Newton Ireland; Mount Morrison, Colo., and several nieces and nephews. The father, two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Funeral service was held in the Presbyterian church Thursday afternoon with Rev. Frank Schroeder in charge. Mrs. Wilson Briggs and Mrs. Howard Willison sang "Shall We Gather At The River" and "Sometime We'll Understnad." Pallbearers were Frank Conley, Edward Tjaden, John C. Hanna, Wilfred Wherry, Harold Jordon and Ernest Horton.
Burial was made in the Bethel cemetery.
