OLIN--Merlyn Gale Glick, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Glick, Olin, died Thursday, Aug. 27 at the University of Iowa hospital, from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident on Saturday, Aug. 22.

He was found unconscious beside his overturned machine in a roadside ditch two miles from his home near Olin.

Funeral service was held Sunday afternoon at the Olin United Brethren church with Rev. W. T. Boston officiating. Burial was in the Olin cemetery.

Casketbearers were Francis Heaverlo, Paul Leakin, Robert Heaverlo, Bud Heath, Cletus Gallagher and Don Riley.

Born in Olin on May 18, 1922, Glick had spent his entire life in Jones county except for a year at Iowa State college and another year when he was employed by Wilson and Co., in Cedar Rapids. For the last month he had been helping his father on the farm.

He was graduated from Olin high school with the class of 1940 and was a member of the United Brethren church.

Besides his parents he is survived by two brothers and seven sisters, Maynard, Los Angeles, Calif.; Dale, Fort Sill, Okla.; Mrs. Beulah Emmert, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Verda Guilford, Olin; Mrs. LaVerna Schulze and Mrs. Ruth Grassfield, Los Angeles; Maxine, Iowa City, and Betty Lou and Wanda Jeanne, Olin.
