OXFORD JUNCTION--Rites were held Friday afternoon from the Hayden Funeral home for Mrs. Josephine Beranek, 82, at 2 p.m. Service was conducted by the Rev. Fred C. Maurer. Women's quartet consisting of Mrs. Fred Lasack, Mrs. Louis Ingwersen, Mrs. A. E. Hodoval and Mrs. J. D. Meade sang, accompanied by Mrs. Ernest Schwab at the piano.

Casket bearers were, Frank Benischek, Albert Benischek, Albert Burda, Vit Lasack, Frank Mizaur and Antone Willimack. Burial was in the Mayflower cemetery.

Mrs. Beranek died here at her home Tuesday of last week at 10 p.m. after a short illness. She was born in Bohemia, July 3, 1860, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hudrlik and came to America when she was a girl of six years. She was united in marriage to Frank Beranek who preceded her in death a number of years ago.

Three daughters, Mrs. Julia Koranda, Mrs. Anton Hurda, Oxford Junction, and Mrs. Mary Blizek, Cedar Rapids, and two sons, John, Oxford Junction, and Ed, Independence, survive. Eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive.
