OXFORD JUNCTION--The final rites for Mrs. Henry Batcheller, 70, were held Sunday from the Methodist church at 2 p.m. Rev. Chamberlain, Clarence, conducted the service, assisted by E. A. Grimwood.

Songs were sung by a women's trio composed of Mrs. Fred Lasack, Mrs. Jeanette Shimerda and Eva Juehring, with Mrs. Louis Mizaur as accompanist. Vivian Mershon, Maxine Rushford, Shirley Waite and Eleanor Blythe were in charge of the flowers. Casketbearers were John Shedek, Frank Kolarik, John Miller, Edward Zak, Anatin Conwell and Otto Benhart. Burial was in the Mayflower cemetery.

Mrs. Batcheller died at her home here in Oxford Junction Friday afternoon after a long illness. She was born south of Oxford Junction Sept. 19, 1872, as Clara Belle Hodgden, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lorenzo Hodgden, early pioneer settlers. She was married to Henry Batcheller Dec. 25, 1890. For 20 years the couple farmed--10 near Paton and 10 here, retiring then to the family home.

She is survived by her husband, one son, Raymond, Oxford Junction; one daughter, Mrs. Ola Lightfoot, Fort Madison; four grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Also three of her brothers, Chauncey Hodgden, Vernon and Amos, all of Oxford Junction.
