Joseph E. Belknap, 76, died Saturday evening, Aug. 15 at his home southeast of Anamosa. Funeral service was held at the Smykil funeral home Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. J. K. Delahooke in charge. Burial was at Riverside cemetery.

Casketbearers were Buster Davenport, Ralph Holmes, Cecil Poorbaugh, Eugene Porter, A. S. Robertson and P. S. Robertson.

Joseph Belknap was born April 18, 186?. One of a family of seven children born to Cable and Elizabeth Belknap. His parents were among the pioneer settlers of Jackson township.

Survivors are two sisters, Jennie E., Anamosa, and Mrs. J. H. Ramsey, Cedar Rapids, and a brother, Oscar, Cedar Rapids.
