OLIN--Cass C. Wood, 75, died suddenly Friday morning, Nov. 6.
He was born July 18, 1867 near Hale, son of Mr. and Mrs. Amos Wood. He was the youngest of eight children, of whom only one survives, Mrs. Josephine Delarm, Albion, Neb.
He was married to Miss Lou Baker, Nov. 11, 1891. To this couple six children were born--Mrs. Dolly Shaw, San Leandro, Calif., Mrs. Blanche Von Sprecken, Oakland, Calif., Mrs. Winifred Freeman and Mrs. Edna Freeman, Clarence; Clayton Wood, Chicago, Ill., and Mrs. Laverna Robinson, Davenport. All of the children survive. Also surviving beside the companion of 51 years are 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mr. Wood's entire life was spent in the Olin and Hale communities.
Funeral service was conducted Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Olin Methodist church. Rev. W. T. Boston was in charge with Rev. W. E. Strait assisting. Burial was in the Olin cemetery.
Mrs. Leon Stivers sang, "In the Garden," and "Good Night and Good Morning," accompanied at the piano by Mrs. H. E. Stuart. Casket bearers were: Edgar Lawson, Delbert Stingley, Gilbert Jones, William Cruise, Wilbur Taylor and Walter Laetare.
