23 August 1962 - The Anamosa Eureka

LaVerne Miner, 47, Anamosa, died Tuesday, Aug. 21, at Mercy hospital, Anamosa.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 25, at 2 p.m., at the Baptist church, Anamosa. Rev. Lee Hobel will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery, Anamosa. Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa, is in charge of arrangements.

He was born Sept. 2, 1914, son of Edward Miner and Anna Crouch Miner, Olin. He was married to Sadie Purvis on Apr. 23, 1940, at Cedar Rapids. He had worked at a Cedar Rapids factory and was a painter by trade.

He was a member of the Baptist church and I.O.O.F. lodge, Anamosa.

Survivors include his wife, Sadie; one brother, Cecil, Cedar Rapids; three sisters, Mrs. Marie Wait, and Mrs. Bernice Gardner, both of Cedar Rapids; and Mrs. Lorraine Knott, Tuscon, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.
