Funeral service for Mrs. Clarissa Dripps, 67, former Anamosan, was held Friday afternoon at the Methodist church in Strawberry Point and burial was in the Strawberry Point cemetery.

Mrs. Dripps, who had made her home for the last 5 years with an aunt, Mrs. Elizabeth Carpenter, in Strawberry Point, died suddenly following a heart attack on Wednesday, Aug. 26.

Born on Dec. 25, 1874, in Strawberry Point, she was the daughter of William Henry and Mary Jane Dexter. She spent her girlhood in that vicinity, attended Upper Iowa university at Fayette and taught for several years before her marriage to William Howard Dripps, Olin, in 1902.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. John Port, near Springville; a brother, Lyman A., Stevensville, Mont., a nephew and six nieces.

Mrs. Dripps attended the Methodist church and was a member of the Women's society of Christian service. She also was affiliated with the Royal Neighbors lodge.
