Final rites for John Dorgeloh, 64, employee of the Men's State reformatory for 32 years, were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Smykil's Funeral home. Burial was in Riverside cemetery.

Rev. J. K. Delahooke, pastor of the First Methodist church, officiated and casketbearers were L. G. Freeman, W. G. Yount, Roy Weighels, Roy Smith, J. L. Sheesley and Lee Reid.

Mr. Dorgeloh died Thursday, March 12, after a lingering illness. He was born at Anamosa on Aug. 30, 1877, son of Herman and Mary Dorgeloh, and spent his entire life in this community.

For 32 years he had been employed at the reformatory, first as second foreman in the butter factory and in recent years he served as guard in the license plate factory.

He was married to Lillian Snyder who survives with one son, Dale, San Francisco, Calif. A second son, Harold Lee, preceded his father in death on March 22, 1932. He also was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Retta. Other survivors are one brother, Henry, and a sister, Marie Dorgeloh, both of Anamosa, and one grandchild, David Lee.
