February 21, 1963 - The Anamosa Eureka

Mrs. William Dayhoff, 49, Anamosa, died Tuesday morning, Feb. 19 at Mercy hospital, Anamosa, following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 21, at 1:30 p.m., at the Goettsch Funeral, Anamosa. Rev. D. A. Loferski will conduct the service. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery.

She was born Clara Arthur, Feb. 3, 1914, daughter of Charles Arthur and Mrs. Sophia Anderson Arthur, Anamosa. She was married to William Dayhoff, Sept. 22, 1934, at Monticello.

Couple made their home in Dubuque for three years before coming to Anamosa to make their home. She was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal church, Anamosa.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Janice, Mrs. Tom Koppenhaver, Anamosa; and Sandra, Mrs. Carl Tunwall, Fort Dodge; and her mother, Mrs. Sophia Arthur, Anamosa.

Others include five sisters Mildred, Mrs. William Wessells, Center Junction; Ann, Mrs. Don Bauserman, Milwaukee, Wisc.; Pauline, Mrs. Herman Brunscheen, Wyoming; Gloria, Mrs. Waylon McCord, Marion; and Bertha, Mrs. Ray Finn, Anamosa.

Five brothers, Harlan Arthur, Detroit, Mich.; Charles Arthur, Hattiesburg, Miss.; Clifford Arthur, Detroit, Mich.; Max Arthur, Cedar Rapids; Gene Arthur, Mount Propect, Ill.; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father and one brother.

Pallbearers include Julius Westphal, John Westphal, Joe Lazio, Cecil Farmer, Don Bunce and Robert McCullough.
