November 30, 1961 - The Anamosa Eureka

WYOMING--Mrs. E. F. "Elsie" Rohwedder, 79, Wyoming, died Thursday morning, Nov. 30, at her home following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 2, at 1:30 p.m., at the Wyoming Presbyterian church. Friends may call at the Wallace Funeral home after 12 noon on Friday, Dec. 1.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Howard Jamison, Wyoming; and two sons, Paul Rohwedder, Wyoming; and John Rohwedder, Davenport.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

December 7, 1961 - The Anamosa Eureka

WYOMING--Mrs. Elsie Rohwedder, 79, lifelong resident of Wyoming, died Thursday morning, Nov. 30, at her home in Wyoming, following an illness of three months.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, Dec. 2, at the Wyoming Presbyterian church. Rev. Wayne Norris officiated at the service. Interment was in the Wyoming cemetery.

Pallbearers included Calvin Reiss, Joe Levsen, Herbert Levsen, Walter Rohwedder, Harry Rohwedder and Robert Rohwedder.

Mrs. C. R. Smith was organist. D. W. Boss was soloist.

She was born March 4, 1882, daughter of August and Johanna Thomsen Levsen, Hale township, Jones county. She was married Dec. 20, 1906, to Ernest F. Rohwedder. Couple made their home on farms in the Wyoming area until moving to their home in town in 1945. Mr. Rohwedder preceded her in death in November, 1956.

She was a member of the Presbyterian church and Industrial society of Wyoming.

Survivors include three children, Freda, Mrs. Howard Jamison and Paul Rohwedder, both of Wyoming, and John Rohwedder, Davenport; one brother, Hans Levsen, Doland, S. Dak.

Others include five sisters, Lena, Mrs. James Moreland, Chamberlain, S. Dak.; Ann, Mrs. Bless Glaze, Alhambra, Calif.; Emma, Mrs. Albert Rohwedder, Wyoming; Freda, Mrs. Harry Wells, Hudson, S. Dak.; and Miss Herta Levsen, Wiggins, Colo.

Others include two nieces, Mrs. Duane Platner, Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Richard Rohwedder, Wyoming, both of whom made their homes with their aunt and uncle for many years; and six grandchildren and two great grandsons.

Beside her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and four brothers.
