WYOMING--Ernest William Evers, 69, died at his home on the south edge of Wyoming early Thursday morning following a several weeks illness with pneumonia complicated by a stroke of paralysis. Mr. Evers was born at Green Island. He was reared at Lost Nation, where he attended the local schools. After his marriage to Emma Geiseke the home was made on farms in Washington, Minnesota and Iowa. Mrs. Evers died in 1918. In 1927 he was married to Letha Edwards of Lost Nation. They operated a grocery store first in Lost Nation, then Monmouth and in Onslow until he retired to his present home. He was an active member of the Lutheran church.

He is survived by his widow, four children: Mrs. Charles McCray, Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. Clive Achuy, Spokane, Wash.; Mrs. Paul Blake and Harry Evers, both Cedar Rapids, six grandchildren and three sisters: Mrs. Henry Durkop, Maquoketa, Mrs. Josephine Ehlers and Mrs. Louis Busch, both Oelwein. Funeral service was held Sunday from the church in Monmouth with burial in the Monmouth cemetery.
