Final rites for Frank D. Day, 43, who died early Tuesday morning after a long illness, were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Smykil's Funeral home.

Rev. Sammie Weaver, pastor of Fairview church, officiated and burial was in Forest Chapel cemetery. Casketbearers included Arthur, Alva, Albert and Dale Wink, Dwaine Norton and Wylie Parks.

Mr. Day was born in Anamosa Jan. 29, 1899, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Newton Day. He was married in Anamosa on July 1, 1921, to Theola Wink and after their marriage they lived on a farm in the Forest Community. Mr. Day had been in failing health for the last eight years and five years ago the family moved to Anamosa.

He is survived by his wife; three sons, Earl, student at Iowa State college, Robert and Virgil, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Warden, Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Joe Day, Los Angeles, Calif., and Ed Day, Anamosa; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Stumbow, Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Nellie Leesekamp, Anamosa; and three half brothers, Dean, John and Bruce Van Amburg
