Final rites for Charlie C. Cushion, 72, who died Sunday at his home in Anamosa, were held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Smykil's Funeral home.

Further services were held at the Methodist church at Arlington Tuesday afternoon and burial was in the Arlington cemetery. Rev. J. K. Delahooke, assisted by Rev. D. V. Butler, Arlington, officiated.

Mr. Cushion's death followed an illness of several weeks.

Casketbearers were George Bates, Joe Gordon, William King, Richard Nus, Herman Schoeppe and Jake Wittorf, all Arlington.

Son of William and Susan Cushion, Mr. Cushion was born at Wellington, Ohio, on April 3, 1869. From Ohio he went to Minnesota and later to Iowa, where he settled at Arlington and there married Miss Ila Hendrickson.

Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Clyde L., Grinnell; one grandchild; two nephews, V. T. Cushion, Arlington, and W. G. Cushion, St. Paul, Minn.; and a niece, Mrs. Roberts, Bellingham, Wash.

He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America at Arlington and of the Knights of Pythias lodge at Anamosa. In 1930 Mr. and Mrs. Cushion came to Anamosa to make their home when Mr. Cushion was employed at the Men's reformatory. In August, 1939, he retired from active work but continued to make his home here.
