14 September 1961 - The Anamosa Eureka

WYOMING--Louis F. Bramer, Springville, farmer resident of Wyoming, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, following a brief illness, at his home in Springville.

Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 8, at 1:30 p.m., at St. Paul Lutheran church, Anamosa. Rev. Otto Zwanziger officiated at the service. Interment was in the Antioch cemetery.

Pallbearers included Herman Carstensen, Malvin Martensen, Raymond Martensen, Raymond Bramer, Lyle Bramer and Willis Bramer.

Junior Hicks was soloist and was accompanied by Mrs. Lola Wantz at the organ.

He was born July 27, 1883, son of the late Chris and Ida Burmahl Bramer, on a farm near Oxford Junction. He grew up and attended public schools in the Onslow and Steam Mill Corner communities.

He was married March 20, 1912, to Patria Thomsen, in Monticello. Couple established their first home on a farm near Steam Mill Corner, later moving to farms in the Center Junction and Anamosa communities. They moved to their present home in Springville 5 1/2 years ago.

Survivors include his wife; three children, Velma, Mrs. Robert Hollingworth, Cedar Rapids; Alta, Mrs. Lawrence Folkers, Springville; and Harold, Cedar Rapids.

Others include one sister, Mrs. Mary Countryman, Hayfield, Minn.; five brothers, August and John, Cedar Rapids; William, Maquoketa; Fred, Onslow; and Harry, Madison, Wisc., and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, and one brother, Edward.
