MONTIELLO- Funeral service for Miss Jean Hogan, 26, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. M. S. Hogan, Monticello, who died Monday evening at her home after an eight-day illness, was held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart church. Burial was in the Catholic cemetery.

Death of Miss Hogan, who had been employed in the accounting department of the Maytag Co. at Newton, was due to leukemia. Previously she had served as secretary to Rep. Thomas E. Stimpson, Anamosa, and also had been employed as secretary in the Jones county AAA office in Monticello.

Born in Anamosa, she moved to Monticello with her parents when she was four months old. She was graduated from Sacred Heart high school in Monticello and from Mount Mercy junior college in Cedar Rapids.

Miss Hogan is survived by her parents, a brother, Robert, Cedar Rapids and a sister, Mrs. D. W. Franks, DeWitt. Another sister, Rose Ann, died several years ago.
