MARTELLE--Miss Merle Peet, 61, Martelle, died early Thursday morning, Aug. 16, at St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a lingering illness.

Funeral services are pending at the Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa.

She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Mary Peet, Martelle.

MARTELLE--Leona Merle Peet, 60, Martelle, died Thursday, Aug. 16, at Cedar Rapids, following a lingering illness.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 18, at 2 p.m., at the Martelle Methodist church. Rev. J. Ellis Webb, Anamosa, officiated at the services. Burial was in Norwich cemetery, Martelle. Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa, was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers included G. J. Armstrong, Clair Armstrong, Ray C. Peet, Robert W. Peet, Glenn Strothers and Gerald Darsee.

Mrs. Robert V. Peet was organist. Dillon Holcomb was soloist.

She was born April 7, 1902, daughter of Claude G. Peet and Mary Armstrong Peet, Martelle. She had lived her entire life in Martelle. She attended the Martelle school.

Survivors include her mother, Mrs. Claude G. Peet, aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father in 1952.
