Funeral services for Betty Phelps, 26, were held on Saturday, Jan. 3, at 2:00 p.m. at the Hayden Funeral Home in Wyoming with burial in the Wyoming Cemetery. The Rev. Kenneth Hamann officiated, Pallbearers were William Osterkamp, William Farrington, Elmer Rohlena, John Dusanek, Harry Johnson and Lyle Thomsen.

Betty Ann Phelps died January 1 at University Hospital following a lingering illness. She was born in Iowa City on April 19, 1954. She lived in the Wyoming area her entire life with the exception of three years in Cedar Rapids. She attended Wyoming school and Kirkwood Community College. A few years ago she had two kidney transplants, both had been rejected.

Survivors include two daughters, Tanya Sue and Stephanie Lee; her mother, Mrs. Duayne Mere of Wyoming; her father, Harris Phelps, Center Junction; four sisters, Mrs. William (Ruth) Thomsen of Marion and Brenda Farrington, Diane Smith and Tracey Berry of Wyoming; and three brothers, David A. Phelps of Cedar Rapids, Jimmy Berry of Nashville and Jack Berry of Wyoming.
