Miss Jessie Louise Smith, 84, former Anamosa resident, died March 14 at the People's hospital at Independence. Funeral service was held March 16 by Rev. R. J. Netting, pastor of the First Presbyterian church. Burial was made in Oak Grove cemetery.

Miss Smith was born at Jeromville, Ohio, and came to Iowa when she was 11 years old. She made her home at Anamosa until about 20 years ago, when she moved to Independence. Miss Smith was a member of the Anamosa Congregation church and the Ladies' Literary society of Independence.
