27 May 1943 - The Anamosa Journal

Accidental death caused by carbon monoxide fumes brought tragedy to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Paulson, Monticello, Saturday when their son Ralland Paulson, 18, was found dead in his car.

The youth had brought his car to the Fred Shover farm near Monticello where he was employed. Doors of the garage were open. It is presumed the young man had fallen asleep after attending a dance.

Born near Monticello Aug. 25, 1924, he had attended the rural schools of Jones county. In addition to his parents he is survived by four brothers and three sisters: Madeline, Henrietta, Lilburn, Keith, Gilbert, Darlene and Glen, all at home; his grandmothers, Mrs. G. S. Paulson and Mrs. Jake Etten, both of Monticello.

Services were held at the Evangelical and Reformed church Tuesday afternoon and burial was in Oakwood cemetery.
