OXFORD JUNCTION--Mrs. Cornelius Petersen, 75, died at her home here Tuesday, Jan. 5, of last week.

Mrs. Petersen had not been in the best of health but had not been confined to her bed. Her death came suddenly of a heart attack while she was busy with her housework.

As Elizabeth Hansen, she was born in Germany Dec. 15, 1887, and came to the United States and to Jones county with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. August Hansen, at the age of 41. She lived here until her marriage June 22, 1910 to Cornelius Petersen.

They went to Kilbourn, Wis., where they engaged in farming, retiring and returning to Oxford Junction about ten years ago.

Funeral services was held at the late home Friday afternoon, Jan. 8, at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Fred C. Maurer, pastor of the English Lutheran church, had charge of the services. Music was by a ladies trio consisting of Mrs. Louis Ingwersen, Mrs. Palmer Vaughn and Mrs. A. E. Hodoval. They were accompanied by Mrs. Ernest Schwab.

Six nephews served as casketbearers. They were Lorenz Ahrendsen, August Ahrendsen, Henry Hansen, August Hansen, August Petersen and Martin Petersen. Burial was in the Mayflower cemetery.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Petersen is survived by two brothers, B. J. Hansen, Oxford Junction, P. T. Hansen, Dolan, S.D., and two sisters, Mrs. Henry Ahrendsen and Mrs. Louis Petersen, Oxford Junction.
