Dr. John H. Peck, Jones county boy who made good as head of Oakdale sanitorium, died Sunday at 11 p.m. of heart disease. He was 63 years of age.

Dr. Peck was raised at Olin and in the last several years bought several outstanding farms in his native county.

Dr. Peck was president of the Iowa Tuberculosis association from 1917 to 1933 and president of the national association in 1933.

He was born at Lost Nation and graduated from the University school of medicine in 1913. Dr. Peck began practicing in Des Moines and was appointed head of the Oakdale sanitorium Nov. 1, 1936.

During the first World war he was chief of the Tuberculosis service of the Army and held the rank of major. Dr. Peck was past president of the Surgeon's club.

Survivors are his wife, two sons, father, two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral service will be held Thursday at 4 p.m. from Campbell Funeral home at Olin.
