OXFORD JUNCTION--The final rites were held Saturday afternoon from the Hayden funeral home at 2 p.m. for Mrs. Rose Pavlista, 79, who died Wednesday morning, Sept. 2, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harry Juehring. Mrs. Pavlista had been ill for four years.

Service was in charge of Rev. J. K. Delahooke, Anamosa. Singers were Mrs. Fred Lasack, Mrs. Hans Ahrendsen, Mrs. Fred Sacora with Mrs. Louis Mizaur as accompanist. The sang "Nearer, Still Nearer", "At the End of the Road" and "No Light There." Those persons serving as casketbearers were Henry Wieneke, Frank Mizaur, Ernest Latare, John Shedek, Louis Mizaur and Joe Shimanek. Burial was in the Mayflower cemetery.

Rosa Benischek was born in Austria, March 7, 1863, and came to American with her mother when she was 16 years old. She was married to Joseph Pavlista February 4, 1880, at Maquoketa. They farmed for many years in this community. Mr. Pavlista died several years ago.

Eleven children were born to them, 10 of whom survive. They are: James, Robertsdale, Ala.; Louis, Maquoketa; Joe, Center Junction; Robert, Cheyenne, Wyo.; Mrs. Emma Swomley, Independence; Mrs. Dora Luke and Mrs. Truman Starr, Lost Nation; Mrs. Albert Vohuska, Mrs. Henry Koranda and Mrs. Harry Juehring, Oxford Junction. Twenty grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren also survive.
