WYOMING--Funeral service for Julian Day, 81-year-old retired farmer who was struck and fatally injured near Lee Sherrill's service station Monday night as he returned from celebration of his birthday in Cedar Rapids, will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Harrington Funeral home in Wyoming.

Rev. W. P. Nicholas, pastor of the Presbyterian church, will officiate at the service and burial will be in the Wyoming cemetery.

Mr. Day was killed as he left a bus and started across highway 64. The car was driven by James A. Paul, Bellevue, who was exonerated of blame by Sheriff Henry Eichhorn.

The retired farmer was returning from Cedar Rapids where he had celebrated his 81st birthday Sunday at the home of a son, Fred Day.

Other survivors are another son, Howard, Wyoming, and two daughters, Mrs. Klaude Dick, Wyoming and Mrs. Francis Woodruff, west of Wyoming. Mrs. Day preceded her husband in death.

Born four and a half miles west of Wyoming on Nov. 22, 1860, Mr. Day had lived his entire life in and around Wyoming. He had farmed near Wyoming until he retired about 15 years ago.
