November 27, 1941 - The Anamosa Journal

Funeral service for Mrs. Amelia Mack Gemihle, 88, who died on Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Verne Miller, was held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Congregational church. Rev. H. E. Dalrymple, pastor of the church, officiated.

Burial was in Lynnwood cemetery at Dubuque and funeral arrangements were in charge of Loder Funeral home.

Casketbearers were Glen Larson, Maurice Fay, Clifford Crow, Walter Erwin, Ralph Conley and Henry Dorgeloh.

Mrs. E. V. Owen and Miss Florence Hale sang "Lights of Home" and "Sometime We Will Understand" before the service.

Born in Dubuque on Feb. 11, 1853, Mrs. Gemihle was married on July 14, 1877 to James H. Roe who died three years later. In 1888 she was married to Godfrey Gemihle who died in 1925. Mr. and Mrs. Gehihle and family moved to Anamosa in1903 and Mrs. Gemihle has lived here since that time.

She is survived by one son, Frederick Mack Gemihle, Dubuque; two daughters, Mrs. Miller and Mrs. George Zeuch, Anamosa; three grandchildren and one great grandchild, relatives report.
