17 August 1961 - The Anamosa Eureka

OXFORD JUNCTION--Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 16, at the Methodist church Oxford Junction for Edward M. Vacek, 51, who died Sunday evening after a short illness.

Vacek was found about 7:30 p.m. Sunday night at his farm home about 3 miles southwest of Oxford Junction. Dr. C. R. Smith, assistant Jones county medical examiner, said Monday, Aug. 14, exact cause of death had not been determined.

Vacek was born near Oxford Junction in December, 1909, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Vacek.

He was united in marriage to Lillian Willimack of Oxford Junction Aug. 18, 1831, and they continued to farm on the same farm where Vacek was born.

Surviving are his wife, one son, James, at home and two daughters, Mrs. Virgil (Joyce) Behrends, Anamosa, and Miss Joann Vacek, Cedar Rapids; his mother, Mrs. Michael Vacek, two brothers, George and Charles, and a sister, Mrs. Joe Buresh, all of Oxford Junction.
