OLIN--Final rites for George Franklin Rummel, 80, who died suddenly Wednesday at the home of his sister, Miss Jennie Rummel, were held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Olin United Brethren church.

Rev. Lloyd Dutro, Waterloo, officiated at the service, assisted by Rev. W. T. Boston, pastor of the church. Masonic burial was in the Olin cemetery beside his wife.

Casketbearers were Gordon Blanchard, Harry Miller, H. E. Carter, Guy Macomber, Wilbur Taylor and Arthur Gilmore.

Mr. Rummel, fourth of a family of eight children, was born one and one-quarter miles south of Olin, son of John M. and Margaret Anne Rummel, on May 13, 1861. Until manhood he lived on the old homestead and attended the Olin school.

He was married on Feb. 5, 1885, to Effie Jane Carpenter, Olin, who preceded him in death on Jan. 15, 1937. Since then he had made his home with his sister, Miss Jennie Rummel.

For 40 years he worked for the American Steel and Wire Co. and was assistant manager with offices in Chicago before he retired 10 years ago. He was a member of the Masonic order for many years and at the time of his death was a Mystic Shriner with his membership in Chicago.

Mr. Rummel is survived by one brother, John A., Olin; two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Rosetta Starry, Ames, and Miss Margaret Jane Rummel, Olin; one nephew and three nieces.
