Funeral services were held for Charles B. Collins, 79, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 12, at Hayden's Funeral Home, Oxford Junction. Burial was at Mayflower Cemetery. The Rev. Kenneth Hamann of the United Methodist Church officiated at the services.

Pallbearers were Roger Collins, William Collins, Scott Collins, Roger Wacker, Bobby Burmeister and Robert Knight.

Mr. Collins died Saturday, February 9, at West Branch.

He was born August 7, 1900 at Ravensden, Arkansas, the son of Henry and Maggie Pliler Collins.

On December 18, 1922 he married Lugenia Staymeyers at Salam, Ark. They lived in Mississippi until moving to Iowa in 1951. He worked as a farm hand in the Wyoming area for 16 years and then moved to Cedar County. He has been a resident of the Crestridge Care Center in West Branch for three and one-half years.

In addition to his wife of Stanwood, other survivors are three sons, Charles of Clarence, Leroy of Tipton and James of Onslow; three daughters, Mrs. Fannie Burmeister and Mrs. Betty Wenndt of Clarence and Mrs. Rosie Lee Bruce of Stanwood; 34 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother, one sister and one grandchild.
