21 March 1963 - The Anamosa Eureka

OXFORD JUNCTION--Joseph F. Zaruba, 66, Oxford Junction, died Sunday morning, March 17, following a lingering illness in the Kleneck Nursing home, Onslow, where he had been a patient for the last two weeks.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, March 19, at 1:30, at St. Mark's Lutheran church, Oxford Junction. Rev. Harold Murkve conducted the service. Burial was in the Mayflower cemetery. Military services were held by the American Legion.

Pallbearers included August Petersen, Jens Latare, Ronald Hansen, Ervin Hansen, Merlin Latare and Herold Rehmke.

He was born Jan. 9, 1897, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Zaruba, Oxford Junction. He was married May 11, 1926, to Julia Buresh, at Anamosa.

For a number of years he was employed by the Produce Co., Oxford Junction, and later was employed by the Milwaukee R.R. He was a veteran of World war I.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Arnold, Oelwein; a daughter, Donna Mae, Mrs. L. Jack Ehlers, Chicago, Ill.

Others include four brothers, John, Mike and Jim, Oxford Junction; Frank, Savanna, Ill.; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Kroll, Savanna, Ill.; Mrs. Christine Kroll, Chicago, Ill.; and Mrs. Anna Milota, Oxford Junction; and eight grandchildren.
